Frequently asked questions

How can I help?

It's easy! Our address is 626 Ridgelawn ave Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Mail a check, money order, gift cards or new unwrapped toys to us. Or you can click here and donate online. You

could organize a toy drive at your workplace. Hold a yard sale and donate the proceeds to us.

What do you do with the money?

It's simple! We buy toys and distribute them to needy kids during the holidays.

How much is used for administrative costs?

NONE! All cash donations are used to buy toys for needy kids. All gift cards and toys are given directly to the needy kids on our rosters.

What do the kids get?

It is our goal to give each child three toys and each teenager a gift card for around $35. You should read Elaine's letter about teenagers!

What do we need most?

We need cash and gift cards the most. Cash can be used to purchase toys for a specific group if we didn't get enough toy donations for a certain age or gender. Gift cards can simply be distributed to our teenagers. And if we have too many gift cards they can be used to buy toys as well.

Are the toys distributed according to race, religion, creed, etc?

While our toy drive culminates with a distribution night that is near Christmas there is no criteria that must be met in order to receive toys from the Lighthouse Kids Program.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes! 100% of your donation is tax deductible. If you give us $1,000,000 you can list it as a deduction (I am fairly sure we would faint if you donated a million dollars!) If you give us a $100 gift card to a store you can list that as a deduction. And even if you give a small unwrapped toy valued at $1 you can list that as a deduction as well.

Will receipts be provided?

Yes along with our tax ID number so you can list it right on your tax return.
